26 : 1
വേനൽകാലത്തു ഹിമവും കൊയ്ത്തുകാലത്തു മഴയും എന്നപോലെ ഭോഷന്നു ബഹുമാനം പൊരുത്തമല്ല.
As snow in summer, and as rain in harvest, so honour is not seemly for a fool.

26 : 2
കുരികിൽ പാറിപ്പോകുന്നതും മീവൽപക്ഷിപറന്നുപോകുന്നതും പോലെ കാരണം കൂടാതെ ശാപം പറ്റുകയില്ല.
As the bird by wandering, as the swallow by flying, so the curse causeless shall not come.

26 : 3
കുതിരെക്കു ചമ്മട്ടി, കഴുതെക്കു കടിഞ്ഞാൺ, മൂഢന്മാരുടെ മുതുകിന്നു വടി.
A whip for the horse, a bridle for the ass, and a rod for the fool's back.

26 : 4
നീയും മൂഢനെപ്പോലെ ആകാതിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു അവന്റെ ഭോഷത്വംപോലെ അവനോടു ഉത്തരം പറയരുതു.
Answer not a fool according to his folly, lest thou also be like unto him.

26 : 5
മൂഢന്നു താൻ ജ്ഞാനിയെന്നു തോന്നാതിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു അവന്റെ ഭോഷത്വത്തിന്നു ഒത്തവണ്ണം അവനോടു ഉത്തരം പറക.
Answer a fool according to his folly, lest he be wise in his own conceit.

26 : 6
മൂഢന്റെ കൈവശം വർത്തമാനം അയക്കുന്നവൻ സ്വന്തകാൽ മുറിച്ചുകളകയും അന്യായം കുടിക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നു.
He that sendeth a message by the hand of a fool cutteth off the feet, and drinketh damage.

26 : 7
മൂഢന്മാരുടെ വായിലെ സദൃശവാക്യം മുടന്തന്റെ കാൽ ഞാന്നു കിടക്കുന്നതുപോലെ.
The legs of the lame are not equal: so is a parable in the mouth of fools.

26 : 8
മൂഢന്നു ബഹുമാനം കൊടുക്കുന്നതു കവിണയിൽ കല്ലു കെട്ടി മുറുക്കുന്നതുപോലെ.
As he that bindeth a stone in a sling, so is he that giveth honour to a fool.

26 : 9
മൂഢന്മാരുടെ വായിലെ സദൃശവാക്യം മത്തന്റെ കയ്യിലെ മുള്ളുപോലെ.
As a thorn goeth up into the hand of a drunkard, so is a parable in the mouths of fools.

26 : 10
എല്ലാവരെയും മുറിവേല്പിക്കുന്ന വില്ലാളിയും മൂഢനെ കൂലിക്കു നിർത്തുന്നവനും കണ്ടവരെ കൂലിക്കു നിർത്തുന്നവനും ഒരുപോലെ.
The great God that formed all things both rewardeth the fool, and rewardeth transgressors.

26 : 11
നായി ഛർദ്ദിച്ചതിലേക്കു വീണ്ടും തിരിയുന്നതും മൂഢൻ തന്റെ ഭോഷത്വം ആവർത്തിക്കുന്നതും ഒരുപോലെ.
As a dog returneth to his vomit, so a fool returneth to his folly.

26 : 12
തനിക്കുതന്നേ ജ്ഞാനിയെന്നു തോന്നുന്ന മനുഷ്യനെ നീ കാണുന്നുവോ? അവനെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ളതിനെക്കാളും മൂഢനെക്കുറിച്ചു അധികം പ്രത്യാശയുണ്ടു.
Seest thou a man wise in his own conceit? there is more hope of a fool than of him.

26 : 13
വഴിയിൽ കേസരി ഉണ്ടു, തെരുക്കളിൽ സിംഹം ഉണ്ടു എന്നിങ്ങനെ മടിയൻ പറയുന്നു.
The slothful man saith, There is a lion in the way; a lion is in the streets.

26 : 14
കതകു ചുഴിക്കുറ്റിയിൽ എന്നപോലെ മടിയൻ തന്റെ കിടക്കയിൽ തിരിയുന്നു.
As the door turneth upon his hinges, so doth the slothful upon his bed.

26 : 15
മടിയൻ തന്റെ കൈ തളികയിൽ പൂത്തുന്നു; വായിലേക്കു തിരികെ കൊണ്ടുവരുന്നതു അവന്നു പ്രയാസം.
The slothful hideth his hand in his bosom; it grieveth him to bring it again to his mouth.

26 : 16
ബുദ്ധിയോടെ പ്രതിവാദിപ്പാൻ പ്രാപ്തിയുള്ള ഏഴു പേരിലും താൻ ജ്ഞാനി എന്നു മടിയന്നു തോന്നുന്നു.
The sluggard is wiser in his own conceit than seven men that can render a reason.

26 : 17
തന്നെ സംബന്ധിക്കാത്ത വഴക്കിൽ ഇടപെടുന്നവൻ വഴിയെപോകുന്ന നായുടെ ചെവിക്കു പിടിക്കുന്നവനെപ്പോലെ.
He that passeth by, and meddleth with strife belonging not to him, is like one that taketh a dog by the ears.

26 : 18
കൂട്ടുകാരനെ വഞ്ചിച്ചിട്ടു അതു കളി എന്നു പറയുന്ന മനുഷ്യൻ
As a mad man who casteth firebrands, arrows, and death,

26 : 19
തീക്കൊള്ളികളും അമ്പുകളും മരണവും എറിയുന്ന ഭ്രാന്തനെപ്പോലെയാകുന്നു.
So is the man that deceiveth his neighbour, and saith, Am not I in sport?

26 : 20
വിറകു ഇല്ലാഞ്ഞാൽ തീ കെട്ടു പോകും; നുണയൻ ഇല്ലാഞ്ഞാൽ വഴക്കും ഇല്ലാതെയാകും.
Where no wood is, there the fire goeth out: so where there is no talebearer, the strife ceaseth.

26 : 21
കരി കനലിന്നും വിറകു തീക്കും എന്നപോലെ വഴക്കുകാരൻ കലഹം ജ്വലിക്കുന്നതിന്നു കാരണം.
As coals are to burning coals, and wood to fire; so is a contentious man to kindle strife.

26 : 22
ഏഷണിക്കാരന്റെ വാക്കു സ്വാദുഭോജനംപോലെ; അതു വയറ്റിന്റെ അറകളിലേക്കു ചെല്ലുന്നു.
The words of a talebearer are as wounds, and they go down into the innermost parts of the belly.

26 : 23
സ്നേഹം ജ്വലിക്കുന്ന അധരവും ദുഷ്ടഹൃദയവും വെള്ളിക്കീടം പൊതിഞ്ഞ മൺകുടംപോലെയാകുന്നു.
Burning lips and a wicked heart are like a potsherd covered with silver dross.

26 : 24
പകെക്കുന്നവൻ അധരംകൊണ്ടു വേഷം ധരിക്കുന്നു; ഉള്ളിലോ അവൻ ചതിവു സംഗ്രഹിച്ചു വെക്കുന്നു.
He that hateth dissembleth with his lips, and layeth up deceit within him;

26 : 25
അവൻ ഇമ്പമായി സംസാരിക്കുമ്പോൾ അവനെ വിശ്വസിക്കരുതു; അവന്റെ ഹൃദയത്തിൽ ഏഴു വെറുപ്പു ഉണ്ടു.
When he speaketh fair, believe him not: for there are seven abominations in his heart.

26 : 26
അവന്റെ പക കപടംകൊണ്ടു മറെച്ചു വെച്ചാലും അവന്റെ ദുഷ്ടത സഭയുടെ മുമ്പിൽ വെളിപ്പെട്ടുവരും.
Whose hatred is covered by deceit, his wickedness shall be shewed before the whole congregation.

26 : 27
കുഴി കുഴിക്കുന്നവൻ അതിൽ വീഴും; കല്ലു ഉരുട്ടുന്നവന്റെമേൽ അതു തിരിഞ്ഞുരുളും.
Whoso diggeth a pit shall fall therein: and he that rolleth a stone, it will return upon him.

26 : 28
ഭോഷ്കു പറയുന്ന നാവു അതിനാൽ തകർന്നവരെ ദ്വേഷിക്കുന്നു; മുഖസ്തുതി പറയുന്ന വായി നാശം വരുത്തുന്നു.
A lying tongue hateth those that are afflicted by it; and a flattering mouth worketh ruin.
