28 : 1
വെള്ളിക്കു ഒരു ഉത്ഭവസ്ഥാനവും പൊന്നു ഊതിക്കഴിപ്പാൻ ഒരു സ്ഥലവും ഉണ്ടു.
Surely there is a vein for the silver, and a place for gold where they fine it.

28 : 2
ഇരിമ്പു മണ്ണിൽനിന്നെടുക്കുന്നു; കല്ലുരുക്കി ചെമ്പെടുക്കുന്നു.
Iron is taken out of the earth, and brass is molten out of the stone.

28 : 3
മനുഷ്യൻ അന്ധകാരത്തിന്നു ഒരതിർ വെക്കുന്നു; കൂരിരുളിലെയും അന്ധതമസ്സിലെയും കല്ലിനെ അങ്ങേയറ്റംവരെ ശോധന ചെയ്യുന്നു.
He setteth an end to darkness, and searcheth out all perfection: the stones of darkness, and the shadow of death.

28 : 4
പാർപ്പുള്ളേടത്തുനിന്നു ദൂരെ അവർ കുഴികുത്തുന്നു; കടന്നുപോകുന്ന കാലിന്നു അവർ മറന്നു പോയവർ തന്നേ; മനുഷ്യർക്കു അകലെ അവർ തൂങ്ങി ആടുന്നു.
The flood breaketh out from the inhabitant; even the waters forgotten of the foot: they are dried up, they are gone away from men.

28 : 5
ഭൂമിയിൽനിന്നു ആഹാരം ഉണ്ടാകുന്നു; അതിന്റെ അധോഭാഗം തീകൊണ്ടെന്നപോലെ മറിയുന്നു.
As for the earth, out of it cometh bread: and under it is turned up as it were fire.

28 : 6
അതിലെ പാറകൾ നീലരത്നത്തിന്റെ ഉല്പത്തിസ്ഥാനം; കനകപ്പൊടിയും അതിൽ ഉണ്ടു.
The stones of it are the place of sapphires: and it hath dust of gold.

28 : 7
അതിന്റെ പാത കഴുകൻ അറിയുന്നില്ല; പരുന്തിന്റെ കണ്ണു അതിനെ കണ്ടിട്ടില്ല.
There is a path which no fowl knoweth, and which the vulture's eye hath not seen:

28 : 8
പുളെച്ച കാട്ടുമൃഗങ്ങൾ അതിൽ ചവിട്ടീട്ടില്ല; ഘോരസിംഹം അതിലെ നടന്നിട്ടുമില്ല.
The lion's whelps have not trodden it, nor the fierce lion passed by it.

28 : 9
അവർ തീക്കൽപാറയിലേക്കു കൈനീട്ടുന്നു; പർവ്വതങ്ങളെ അവർ വേരോടെ മറിച്ചുകളയുന്നു.
He putteth forth his hand upon the rock; he overturneth the mountains by the roots.

28 : 10
അവർ പാറകളുടെ ഇടയിൽകൂടി നടകളെ വെട്ടുന്നു; അവരുടെ കണ്ണു വിലയേറിയ വസ്തുക്കളെയൊക്കെയും കാണുന്നു.
He cutteth out rivers among the rocks; and his eye seeth every precious thing.

28 : 11
അവർ നീരൊഴുക്കുകളെ ചോരാതവണ്ണം അടെച്ചു നിർത്തുന്നു; ഗുപ്തമായിരിക്കുന്നതു അവർ വെളിച്ചത്തു കൊണ്ടുവരുന്നു.
He bindeth the floods from overflowing; and the thing that is hid bringeth he forth to light.

28 : 12
എന്നാൽ ജ്ഞാനം എവിടെ കണ്ടുകിട്ടും? വിവേകത്തിന്റെ ഉത്ഭവസ്ഥാനം എവിടെ?
But where shall wisdom be found? and where is the place of understanding?

28 : 13
അതിന്റെ വില മനുഷ്യൻ അറിയുന്നില്ല; ജീവനുള്ളവരുടെ ദേശത്തു അതിനെ കണ്ടെത്തുന്നില്ല.
Man knoweth not the price thereof; neither is it found in the land of the living.

28 : 14
അതു എന്നിൽ ഇല്ല എന്നു ആഴി പറയുന്നു; അതു എന്റെ പക്കൽ ഇല്ല എന്നു സമുദ്രവും പറയുന്നു.
The depth saith, It is not in me: and the sea saith, It is not with me.

28 : 15
തങ്കം കൊടുത്താൽ അതു കിട്ടുന്നതല്ല; അതിന്റെ വിലയായി വെള്ളി തൂക്കിക്കൊടുക്കാറുമില്ല.
It cannot be gotten for gold, neither shall silver be weighed for the price thereof.

28 : 16
ഓഫീർപൊന്നോ വിലയേറിയ ഗോമേദകമോ നീലരത്നമോ ഒന്നും അതിന്നു ഈടാകുന്നതല്ല;
It cannot be valued with the gold of Ophir, with the precious onyx, or the sapphire.

28 : 17
സ്വർണ്ണവും സ്ഫടികവും അതിനോടു ഒക്കുന്നില്ല; തങ്കം കൊണ്ടുള്ള പണ്ടങ്ങൾക്കു അതിനെ മാറിക്കൊടുപ്പാറില്ല.
The gold and the crystal cannot equal it: and the exchange of it shall not be for jewels of fine gold.

28 : 18
പവിഴത്തിന്റെയും പളുങ്കിന്റെയും പേർ മിണ്ടുകേ വേണ്ടാ; ജ്ഞാനത്തിന്റെ വില മുത്തുകളിലും കവിഞ്ഞതല്ലോ.
No mention shall be made of coral, or of pearls: for the price of wisdom is above rubies.

28 : 19
കൂശിലെ പുഷ്പരാഗം അതിനോടു ഒക്കുന്നില്ല; തങ്കംകൊണ്ടു അതിന്റെ വില മതിക്കാകുന്നതുമല്ല.
The topaz of Ethiopia shall not equal it, neither shall it be valued with pure gold.

28 : 20
പിന്നെ ജ്ഞാനം എവിടെനിന്നു വരുന്നു? വിവേകത്തിന്റെ ഉത്ഭവസ്ഥാനം എവിടെ?
Whence then cometh wisdom? and where is the place of understanding?

28 : 21
അതു സകലജീവികളുടെയും കണ്ണുകൾക്കു മറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു; ആകാശത്തിലെ പക്ഷികൾക്കു അതു ഗുപ്തമായിരിക്കുന്നു.
Seeing it is hid from the eyes of all living, and kept close from the fowls of the air.

28 : 22
ഞങ്ങളുടെ ചെവികൊണ്ടു അതിന്റെ കേൾവി കേട്ടിട്ടുണ്ടു എന്നു നരകവും മരണവും പറയുന്നു.
Destruction and death say, We have heard the fame thereof with our ears.

28 : 23
ദൈവം അതിന്റെ വഴി അറിയുന്നു; അതിന്റെ ഉത്ഭവസ്ഥാനം അവന്നു നിശ്ചയമുണ്ടു.
God understandeth the way thereof, and he knoweth the place thereof.

28 : 24
അവൻ ഭൂമിയുടെ അറ്റങ്ങളോളവും നോക്കുന്നു; ആകാശത്തിന്റെ കീഴിലൊക്കെയും കാണുന്നു.
For he looketh to the ends of the earth, and seeth under the whole heaven;

28 : 25
അവൻ കാറ്റിനെ തൂക്കിനോക്കുകയും വെള്ളത്തിന്റെ അളവു നിശ്ചയിക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നു.
To make the weight for the winds; and he weigheth the waters by measure.

28 : 26
അവൻ മഴെക്കു ഒരു നിയമവും ഇടിമിന്നലിന്നു ഒരു വഴിയും ഉണ്ടാക്കിയപ്പോൾ
When he made a decree for the rain, and a way for the lightning of the thunder:

28 : 27
അവൻ അതു കണ്ടു വർണ്ണിക്കയും അതു സ്ഥാപിച്ചു പരിശോധിക്കയും ചെയ്തു.
Then did he see it, and declare it; he prepared it, yea, and searched it out.

28 : 28
കർത്താവിനോടുള്ള ഭക്തി തന്നേ ജ്ഞാനം; ദോഷം അകന്നു നടക്കുന്നതു തന്നേ വിവേകം എന്നു അവൻ മനുഷ്യനോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു.
And unto man he said, Behold, the fear of the LORD, that is wisdom; and to depart from evil is understanding.
