17 : 1
യെഹൂദാരാജാവായ ആഹാസിന്റെ പന്ത്രണ്ടാം ആണ്ടിൽ ഏലയുടെ മകനായ ഹോശേയ യിസ്രായേലിന്നു രാജാവായി ശമർയ്യയിൽ ഒമ്പതു സംവത്സരം വാണു.
In the twelfth year of Ahaz king of Judah began Hoshea the son of Elah to reign in Samaria over Israel nine years.

17 : 2
അവൻ യഹോവെക്കു അനിഷ്ടമായുള്ളതു ചെയ്തു; തനിക്കു മുമ്പുള്ള യിസ്രായേൽരാജാക്കന്മാരെപ്പോലെ അല്ലതാനും.
And he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD, but not as the kings of Israel that were before him.

17 : 3
അവന്റെ നേരെ അശ്ശൂർ രാജാവായ ശൽമനേസെർ പുറപ്പെട്ടു വന്നു; ഹോശേയ അവന്നു ആശ്രിതനായിത്തീർന്നു കപ്പം കൊടുത്തുവന്നു.
Against him came up Shalmaneser king of Assyria; and Hoshea became his servant, and gave him presents.

17 : 4
എന്നാൽ ഹോശേയ മിസ്രയീംരാജാവായ സോവിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ ദൂതന്മാരെ അയക്കയും അശ്ശൂർരാജാവിന്നു ആണ്ടുതോറുമുള്ള കപ്പം കൊടുത്തയക്കാതിരിക്കയും ചെയ്തതുനിമിത്തം അശ്ശൂർ രാജാവു അവനിൽ ദ്രോഹം കണ്ടിട്ടു അവനെ പിടിച്ചു ബന്ധിച്ചു കാരാഗൃഹത്തിൽ ആക്കി.
And the king of Assyria found conspiracy in Hoshea: for he had sent messengers to So king of Egypt, and brought no present to the king of Assyria, as he had done year by year: therefore the king of Assyria shut him up, and bound him in prison.

17 : 5
അശ്ശൂർരാജാവു രാജ്യത്തു എല്ലാടവും കൂടി കടന്നു ശമർയ്യയിലേക്കു വന്നു അതിനെ മൂന്നു സംവത്സരം നിരോധിച്ചു.
Then the king of Assyria came up throughout all the land, and went up to Samaria, and besieged it three years.

17 : 6
ഹോശേയയുടെ ഒമ്പതാം ആണ്ടിൽ അശ്ശൂർരാജാവു ശമർയ്യയെ പിടിച്ചു യിസ്രായേലിനെ ബദ്ധരാക്കി അശ്ശൂരിലേക്കു കൊണ്ടുപോയി, ഹലഹിലും ഗോസാൻ നദീതീരത്തിലെ ഹാബോരിലും മേദ്യരുടെ പട്ടണങ്ങളിലും പാർപ്പിച്ചു.
In the ninth year of Hoshea the king of Assyria took Samaria, and carried Israel away into Assyria, and placed them in Halah and in Habor by the river of Gozan, and in the cities of the Medes.

17 : 7
യിസ്രായേൽമക്കൾ തങ്ങളെ മിസ്രയീംരാജാവായ ഫറവോന്റെ കൈക്കീഴിൽനിന്നു വിടുവിച്ചു മിസ്രയീംദേശത്തുനിന്നു പുറപ്പെടടുവിച്ചു കൊണ്ടുവന്ന തങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയോടു പാപം ചെയ്തു അന്യദൈവങ്ങളെ ഭജിക്കയും
For so it was, that the children of Israel had sinned against the LORD their God, which had brought them up out of the land of Egypt, from under the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt, and had feared other gods,

17 : 8
യഹോവ യിസ്രായേൽമക്കളുടെ മുമ്പിൽനിന്നു നീക്കിക്കളഞ്ഞിരുന്ന ജാതികളുടെ ചട്ടങ്ങളെയും അവയെ നടപ്പാക്കിയ യിസ്രായേൽരാജാക്കന്മാരുടെ ചട്ടങ്ങളെയും അനുസരിച്ചുനടക്കയും ചെയ്തതുകൊണ്ടു ഇങ്ങനെ സംഭവിച്ചു.
And walked in the statutes of the heathen, whom the LORD cast out from before the children of Israel, and of the kings of Israel, which they had made.

17 : 9
യിസ്രായേൽമക്കൾ തങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവെക്കു വിരോധമായി കൊള്ളരുതാത്തകാര്യങ്ങളെ രഹസ്യമായി ചെയ്തു കാവൽക്കാരുടെ ഗോപുരംമുതൽ ഉറപ്പുള്ള പട്ടണംവരെ തങ്ങളുടെ എല്ലാപട്ടണങ്ങളിലും പൂജാഗിരികൾ പണിതു.
And the children of Israel did secretly those things that were not right against the LORD their God, and they built them high places in all their cities, from the tower of the watchmen to the fenced city.

17 : 10
അവർ ഉയർന്ന കുന്നിന്മേലൊക്കെയും പച്ചവൃക്ഷത്തിൻ കീഴിലൊക്കെയും വിഗ്രഹസ്തംഭങ്ങളും അശേരാപ്രതിഷ്ഠകളും സ്ഥാപിച്ചു.
And they set them up images and groves in every high hill, and under every green tree:

17 : 11
യഹോവ തങ്ങളുടെ മുമ്പിൽ നിന്നു നീക്കക്കളഞ്ഞിരുന്ന ജാതികളെപ്പോലെ അവർ സകലപൂജാഗിരികളിലും ധൂപം കാട്ടി യഹോവയെ കോപിപ്പിപ്പാൻ തക്കവണ്ണം ദോഷമായുള്ള കാര്യങ്ങളെ പ്രവർത്തിച്ചു.
And there they burnt incense in all the high places, as did the heathen whom the LORD carried away before them; and wrought wicked things to provoke the LORD to anger:

17 : 12
ഈ കാര്യം ചെയ്യരുതു എന്നു യഹോവ അവരോടു വിലക്കിയിരുന്ന വിഗ്രഹങ്ങളെ അവർ ചെന്നു സേവിച്ചു.
For they served idols, whereof the LORD had said unto them, Ye shall not do this thing.

17 : 13
എന്നാൽ യഹോവ സകലപ്രവാചകന്മാരും ദർശകന്മാരും മുഖാന്തരം യിസ്രായേലിനോടും യെഹൂദയോടും: നിങ്ങളുടെ ദുർമ്മാർഗ്ഗങ്ങളെ വിട്ടു ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാരോടു കല്പിച്ചതും എന്റെ ദാസന്മാരായ പ്രവാചകന്മാർമുഖാന്തരം നിങ്ങൾക്കു അയച്ചുതന്നതുമായ ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തിന്നൊത്തവണ്ണമൊക്കെയും എന്റെ കല്പനകളും ചട്ടങ്ങളും പ്രമാണിച്ചുനടപ്പിൻ എന്നു സാക്ഷീകരിച്ചു.
Yet the LORD testified against Israel, and against Judah, by all the prophets, and by all the seers, saying, Turn ye from your evil ways, and keep my commandments and my statutes, according to all the law which I commanded your fathers, and which I sent to you by my servants the prophets.

17 : 14
എങ്കിലും അവർ കേൾക്കാതെ തങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയിൽ വിശ്വസിക്കാതിരുന്ന പിതാക്കന്മാരെപ്പോലെ ദുശ്ശാഠ്യം കാണിച്ചു,
Notwithstanding they would not hear, but hardened their necks, like to the neck of their fathers, that did not believe in the LORD their God.

17 : 15
അവന്റെ ചട്ടങ്ങളെയും അവരുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാരോടു അവൻ ചെയ്ത നിയമത്തെയും അവൻ അവരോടു സാക്ഷീകരിച്ച സാക്ഷ്യങ്ങളെയും നിരസിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞു; അവർ വ്യാജത്തെ പിന്തുടർന്നു വ്യർത്ഥന്മാരായിത്തീർന്നു; അവരെപ്പോലെ ആചരിക്കരുതു എന്നു യഹോവ കല്പിച്ചിരുന്ന ചുറ്റുമുള്ള ജാതികളെ തന്നേ അവർ പിന്തുടർന്നു.
And they rejected his statutes, and his covenant that he made with their fathers, and his testimonies which he testified against them; and they followed vanity, and became vain, and went after the heathen that were round about them, concerning whom the LORD had charged them, that they should not do like them.

17 : 16
അവർ തങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയുടെ കല്പനകളെ ഒക്കെയും ഉപേക്ഷിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞു തങ്ങൾക്കു രണ്ടു കാളക്കുട്ടികളുടെ വിഗ്രഹങ്ങൾ വാർപ്പിച്ചു അശേരാപ്രതിഷ്ഠയും ഉണ്ടാക്കി; ആകാശത്തിലെ സർവ്വസൈന്യത്തെയും നമസ്കരിച്ചു ബാലിനെയും സേവിച്ചുപോന്നു.
And they left all the commandments of the LORD their God, and made them molten images, even two calves, and made a grove, and worshipped all the host of heaven, and served Baal.

17 : 17
അവർ തങ്ങളുടെ പുത്രന്മാരെയും പുത്രിമാരെയും അഗ്നിപ്രവേശം ചെയ്യിച്ചു പ്രശ്നവും ആഭിചാരവും പ്രയോഗിച്ചു യഹോവയെ കോപിപ്പിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു അവന്നു അനിഷ്ടമായുള്ളതു ചെയ്‍വാൻ തങ്ങളെത്തന്നേ വിറ്റുകളഞ്ഞു.
And they caused their sons and their daughters to pass through the fire, and used divination and enchantments, and sold themselves to do evil in the sight of the LORD, to provoke him to anger.

17 : 18
അതുനിമിത്തം യഹോവ യിസ്രായേലിനോടു ഏറ്റവും കോപിച്ചു അവരെ തന്റെ സന്നിധിയിൽ നിന്നു നീക്കിക്കളഞ്ഞു; യെഹൂദാഗോത്രം മാത്രമല്ലാതെ ആരും ശേഷിച്ചില്ല.
Therefore the LORD was very angry with Israel, and removed them out of his sight: there was none left but the tribe of Judah only.

17 : 19
യെഹൂദയും തങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയുടെ കല്പനകളെ പ്രമാണിക്കാതെ യിസ്രായേൽ ഉണ്ടാക്കിയ ചട്ടങ്ങളെ അനുസരിച്ചു നടന്നു.
Also Judah kept not the commandments of the LORD their God, but walked in the statutes of Israel which they made.

17 : 20
ആകയാൽ യഹോവ യിസ്രായേൽസന്തതിയെ മുഴുവനും തള്ളി അവരെ താഴ്ത്തി, കൊള്ളയിടുന്നവരുടെ കയ്യിൽ ഏല്പിച്ചു, ഒടുവിൽ അവരെ തന്റെ സന്നിധിയിൽനിന്നു നീക്കിക്കളഞ്ഞു.
And the LORD rejected all the seed of Israel, and afflicted them, and delivered them into the hand of spoilers, until he had cast them out of his sight.

17 : 21
അവൻ യിസ്രായേലിനെ ദാവീദ് ഗൃഹത്തിങ്കൽനിന്നു പറിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞു; അവർ നെബാത്തിന്റെ മകനായ യൊരോബെയാമിനെ രാജാവാക്കി; യൊരോബെയാം യിസ്രായേലിനെ യഹോവയെ വിട്ടുമാറുമാറാക്കി അവരെക്കൊണ്ടു വലിയോരു പാപം ചെയ്യിച്ചു.
For he rent Israel from the house of David; and they made Jeroboam the son of Nebat king: and Jeroboam drave Israel from following the LORD, and made them sin a great sin.

17 : 22
അങ്ങനെ യിസ്രായേൽമക്കൾ യൊരോബെയാം ചെയ്ത സകലപാപങ്ങളിലും നടന്നു.
For the children of Israel walked in all the sins of Jeroboam which he did; they departed not from them;

17 : 23
അവർ അവയെ വിട്ടുമാറായ്കയാൽ യഹോവ പ്രാവചകന്മാരായ തന്റെ സകലദാസന്മാരും മുഖാന്തരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്തപ്രാകരം ഒടുവിൽ യിസ്രായേലിനെ തന്റെ സന്നിധിയിൽ നിന്നു നീക്കിക്കളഞ്ഞു. ഇങ്ങനെ യിസ്രായേൽ സ്വദേശം വിട്ടു അശ്ശൂരിലേക്കു പോകേണ്ടിവന്നു; ഇന്നുവരെ അവിടെ ഇരിക്കുന്നു.
Until the LORD removed Israel out of his sight, as he had said by all his servants the prophets. So was Israel carried away out of their own land to Assyria unto this day.

17 : 24
അശ്ശൂർ രാജാവു ബാബേൽ, കൂഥാ, അവ്വ, ഹമാത്ത്, സെഫർവ്വയീം എന്നിവിടങ്ങളിൽനിന്നു ആളുകളെ വരുത്തി യിസ്രായേൽമക്കൾക്കു പകരം ശമർയ്യാപട്ടണങ്ങളിൽ പാർപ്പിച്ചു; അവർ ശമർയ്യകൈവശമാക്കി അതിന്റെ പട്ടണങ്ങളിൽ പാർത്തു.
And the king of Assyria brought men from Babylon, and from Cuthah, and from Ava, and from Hamath, and from Sepharvaim, and placed them in the cities of Samaria instead of the children of Israel: and they possessed Samaria, and dwelt in the cities thereof.

17 : 25
അവർ അവിടെ പാർപ്പാൻ തുടങ്ങിയപ്പോൾ യഹോവയെ ഭജിച്ചില്ല; അതുകൊണ്ടു യഹോവ അവരുടെ ഇടയിൽ സിംഹങ്ങളെ അയച്ചു; അവ അവരിൽ ചിലരെ കൊന്നുകളഞ്ഞു.
And so it was at the beginning of their dwelling there, that they feared not the LORD: therefore the LORD sent lions among them, which slew some of them.

17 : 26
അപ്പോൾ അവർ അശ്ശൂർ രാജാവിനെ അറിയിച്ചതു: നീ കുടിനീക്കി ശമർയ്യാപട്ടണങ്ങളിൽ പാർപ്പിച്ച ജാതികൾ ആദേശത്തിലെ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ മാർഗ്ഗം അറിയായ്കകൊണ്ടു അവൻ അവരുടെ ഇടയിൽ സിംഹങ്ങളെ അയച്ചു; അവർ ആ ദേശത്തിലെ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ മാർഗ്ഗം അറിയായ്കയാൽ അവ അവരെ കൊന്നുകളയുന്നു.
Wherefore they spake to the king of Assyria, saying, The nations which thou hast removed, and placed in the cities of Samaria, know not the manner of the God of the land: therefore he hath sent lions among them, and, behold, they slay them, because they know not the manner of the God of the land.

17 : 27
അതിന്നു അശ്ശൂർ രാജാവു: നിങ്ങൾ അവിടെനിന്നു കൊണ്ടുവന്ന പുരോഹിതന്മാരിൽ ഒരുത്തനെ അവിടേക്കു കൊണ്ടുപോകുവിൻ; അവർ ചെന്നു അവിടെ പാർക്കയും അവർ ആ ദേശത്തെ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ മാർഗ്ഗം അവരെ ഉപദേശിക്കയും ചെയ്യട്ടെ എന്നു കല്പിച്ചു.
Then the king of Assyria commanded, saying, Carry thither one of the priests whom ye brought from thence; and let them go and dwell there, and let him teach them the manner of the God of the land.

17 : 28
അങ്ങനെ അവർ ശമർയ്യയിൽനിന്നു കൊണ്ടുപോയിരുന്ന പുരോഹിതന്മാരിൽ ഒരുത്തൻ വന്നു ബേഥേലിൽ പാർത്തു; യഹോവയെ ഭജിക്കേണ്ടുന്ന വിധം അവർക്കു ഉപദേശിച്ചുകൊടുത്തു.
Then one of the priests whom they had carried away from Samaria came and dwelt in Bethel, and taught them how they should fear the LORD.

17 : 29
എങ്കിലും അതതു ജാതി താന്താന്റെ ദേവന്മാരെ ഉണ്ടാക്കി, ഓരോ ജാതി പാർത്തുവന്ന പട്ടണങ്ങളിൽ ശമർയ്യർ ഉണ്ടാക്കിയിരുന്ന പൂജാഗിരിക്ഷേത്രങ്ങളിൽ പ്രതിഷ്ഠിച്ചു.
Howbeit every nation made gods of their own, and put them in the houses of the high places which the Samaritans had made, every nation in their cities wherein they dwelt.

17 : 30
ബാബേൽകാർ സുക്കോത്ത്-ബെനോത്തിനെ ഉണ്ടാക്കി; കൂഥക്കാർ നേർഗാലിനെ ഉണ്ടാക്കി; ഹമാത്ത്കാർ അശീമയെ ഉണ്ടാക്കി;
And the men of Babylon made Succothbenoth, and the men of Cuth made Nergal, and the men of Hamath made Ashima,

17 : 31
അവ്വക്കാർ നിബ്ഹസിനെയും തർത്തക്കിനെയും ഉണ്ടാക്കി; സെഫർവ്വക്കാർ സെഫർവ്വയീംദേവന്മാരായ അദ്രമേലെക്കിന്നും അനമേലെക്കിന്നും തങ്ങളുടെ മക്കളെ അഗ്നിപ്രവേശനം ചെയ്യിച്ചു.
And the Avites made Nibhaz and Tartak, and the Sepharvites burnt their children in fire to Adrammelech and Anammelech, the gods of Sepharvaim.

17 : 32
അവർ യഹോവയെ ഭജിക്കയും തങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയിൽനിന്നു തന്നേ പൂജാഗിരിപുരോഹിതന്മാരെ നിയമിക്കയും അവർ അവർക്കു വേണ്ടി പൂജാഗിരിക്ഷേത്രങ്ങളിൽ യാഗം കഴിക്കയും ചെയ്യും.
So they feared the LORD, and made unto themselves of the lowest of them priests of the high places, which sacrificed for them in the houses of the high places.

17 : 33
അങ്ങനെ അവർ യഹോവയെ ഭജിക്കയും തങ്ങൾ വിട്ടു പുറപ്പെട്ടു പോന്ന ജാതികളുടെ മര്യാദപ്രകാരം സ്വന്ത ദേവന്മാരെ സേവിക്കയും ചെയ്തുപോന്നു.
They feared the LORD, and served their own gods, after the manner of the nations whom they carried away from thence.

17 : 34
ഇന്നുവരെയും അവർ മുമ്പിലത്തെ മര്യാദപ്രകാരം തന്നേ ചെയ്യുന്നു; യഹോവയെ ഭജിക്കുന്നില്ല; തങ്ങളുടെ സ്വന്തചട്ടങ്ങളെയും മാർഗ്ഗവിധികളെയും ആകട്ടെ, യഹോവ യിസ്രായേൽ എന്നു പേർവിളിച്ച യക്കോബിന്റെ മക്കളോടു കല്പിച്ച ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തെയും കല്പനയെയുമാകട്ടെ അനുസരിച്ചുനടക്കുന്നതുമില്ല.
Unto this day they do after the former manners: they fear not the LORD, neither do they after their statutes, or after their ordinances, or after the law and commandment which the LORD commanded the children of Jacob, whom he named Israel;

17 : 35
യഹോവ അവരോടു ഒരു നിയമം ചെയ്തു കല്പിച്ചതു എന്തെന്നാൽ: നിങ്ങൾ അന്യദൈവങ്ങളെ ഭജിക്കയും അവെക്കു യാഗംകഴിക്കയും ചെയ്യാതെ
With whom the LORD had made a covenant, and charged them, saying, Ye shall not fear other gods, nor bow yourselves to them, nor serve them, nor sacrifice to them:

17 : 36
നിങ്ങളെ മഹാശക്തികൊണ്ടും നീട്ടിയ ഭുജംകൊണ്ടും മിസ്രയീംദേശത്തുനിന്നു കൊണ്ടുവന്ന യഹോവയെ മാത്രം ഭജിക്കയും അവനെ മാത്രം നമസ്കരിക്കയും അവന്നു മാത്രം യാഗംകഴിക്കയും വേണം.
But the LORD, who brought you up out of the land of Egypt with great power and a stretched out arm, him shall ye fear, and him shall ye worship, and to him shall ye do sacrifice.

17 : 37
അവൻ നിങ്ങൾക്കു എഴുതിത്തന്ന ചട്ടങ്ങളെയും ന്യായങ്ങളെയും ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തെയും കല്പനയെയും നിങ്ങൾ എല്ലാനാളും പ്രമാണിച്ചുനടക്കേണം; അന്യദൈവങ്ങളെ ഭജിക്കരുതു.
And the statutes, and the ordinances, and the law, and the commandment, which he wrote for you, ye shall observe to do for evermore; and ye shall not fear other gods.

17 : 38
ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു ചെയ്ത നിയമം നിങ്ങൾ മറക്കരുതു; അന്യ ദൈവങ്ങളെ ഭജിക്കയുമരുതു.
And the covenant that I have made with you ye shall not forget; neither shall ye fear other gods.

17 : 39
നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയെ മാത്രം നിങ്ങൾ ഭജിക്കേണം; എന്നാൽ അവൻ നിങ്ങളെ നിങ്ങളുടെ സകലശത്രുക്കളുടെയും കയ്യിൽനിന്നു വിടുവിക്കും.
But the LORD your God ye shall fear; and he shall deliver you out of the hand of all your enemies.

17 : 40
എങ്കിലും അവർ കേൾക്കാതെ തങ്ങളുടെ പണ്ടത്തെ മര്യാദ അനുസരിച്ചു നടന്നു.
Howbeit they did not hearken, but they did after their former manner.

17 : 41
അങ്ങനെ ഈ ജാതികൾ യഹോവയെ ഭജിക്കയും തങ്ങളുടെ വിഗ്രഹങ്ങളെ സേവിക്കയും ചെയ്തു; പിതാക്കന്മാർ ചെയ്തതുപോലെ പുത്രന്മാരും പൌത്രന്മാരും ഇന്നുവരെ ചെയ്തുവരുന്നു.
So these nations feared the LORD, and served their graven images, both their children, and their children's children: as did their fathers, so do they unto this day.
