10 : 1
അപ്പോൾ ശമൂവേൽ തൈലപാത്രം എടുത്തു അവന്റെ തലയിൽ ഒഴിച്ചു അവനെ ചുംബിച്ചു പറഞ്ഞതു: യഹോവ തന്റെ അവകാശത്തിന്നു പ്രഭുവായി നിന്നെ അഭിഷേകം ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു.
Then Samuel took a vial of oil, and poured it upon his head, and kissed him, and said, Is it not because the LORD hath anointed thee to be captain over his inheritance?

10 : 2
നീ ഇന്നു എന്നെ പിരിഞ്ഞുപോകുമ്പോൾ ബെന്യാമീന്റെ അതിരിങ്കലെ സെൽസഹിൽ റാഹേലിന്റെ കല്ലറെക്കരികെവെച്ചു രണ്ടാളെ കാണും; നീ അന്വേഷിപ്പാൻ പുറപ്പെട്ടുപോന്ന കഴുതകളെ കണ്ടുകിട്ടിയിരിക്കുന്നു; നിന്റെ അപ്പൻ കഴുതയെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ള ചിന്ത വിട്ടു: എന്റെ മകന്നുവേണ്ടി ഞാൻ എന്തു ചെയ്യേണ്ടു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു നിങ്ങളെക്കുറിച്ചു വിഷാദിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു അവർ നിന്നോടു പറയും.
When thou art departed from me to day, then thou shalt find two men by Rachel's sepulchre in the border of Benjamin at Zelzah; and they will say unto thee, The asses which thou wentest to seek are found: and, lo, thy father hath left the care of the asses, and sorroweth for you, saying, What shall I do for my son?

10 : 3
അവിടെനിന്നു നീ മുമ്പോട്ടു ചെന്നു താബോരിലെ കരുവേലകത്തിന്നരികെ എത്തുമ്പോൾ ഒരുത്തൻ മൂന്നു ആട്ടിൻ കുട്ടിയെയും വേറൊരുത്തൻ മൂന്നു അപ്പവും വേറൊരുത്തൻ ഒരു തുരുത്തി വീഞ്ഞും ചുമന്നുകൊണ്ടു ഇങ്ങനെ മൂന്നു പുരുഷന്മാർ ബേഥേലിൽ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ പോകുന്നതായി നിനക്കു എതിർപെടും.
Then shalt thou go on forward from thence, and thou shalt come to the plain of Tabor, and there shall meet thee three men going up to God to Bethel, one carrying three kids, and another carrying three loaves of bread, and another carrying a bottle of wine:

10 : 4
അവർ നിന്നോടു കുശലം ചോദിക്കും; നിനക്കു രണ്ടു അപ്പവും തരും; നീ അതു അവരുടെ കയ്യിൽനിന്നു വാങ്ങിക്കൊള്ളേണം.
And they will salute thee, and give thee two loaves of bread; which thou shalt receive of their hands.

10 : 5
അതിന്റെ ശേഷം നീ ഫെലിസ്ത്യരുടെ പട്ടാളം ഉള്ള ദൈവഗിരിക്കു എത്തും; അവിടെ പട്ടണത്തിൽ കടക്കുമ്പോൾ മുമ്പിൽ വീണ, തപ്പു, കുഴൽ, കിന്നരം എന്നിവയോടുകൂടെ പൂജാഗിരിയിൽനിന്നു ഇറങ്ങിവരുന്ന ഒരു പ്രവാചകഗണത്തെ കാണും; അവർ പ്രവചിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരിക്കും.
After that thou shalt come to the hill of God, where is the garrison of the Philistines: and it shall come to pass, when thou art come thither to the city, that thou shalt meet a company of prophets coming down from the high place with a psaltery, and a tabret, and a pipe, and a harp, before them; and they shall prophesy:

10 : 6
യഹോവയുടെ ആത്മാവു ശക്തിയോടെ നിന്റെമേൽ വന്നിട്ടു നീയും അവരോടുകൂടെ പ്രവചിക്കയും ആൾ മാറിയതുപോലെ ആയ്തീരുകയും ചെയ്യും.
And the Spirit of the LORD will come upon thee, and thou shalt prophesy with them, and shalt be turned into another man.

10 : 7
ഈ അടയാളങ്ങൾ നിനക്കു സംഭവിക്കുമ്പോൾ യുക്തമെന്നു തോന്നുന്നതു ചെയ്ക; ദൈവം നിന്നോടുകൂടെ ഉണ്ടു.
And let it be, when these signs are come unto thee, that thou do as occasion serve thee; for God is with thee.

10 : 8
എന്നാൽ നീ എനിക്കു മുമ്പെ ഗില്ഗാലിലേക്കു പോകേണം; ഹോമയാഗങ്ങളും സമാധാനയാഗങ്ങളും കഴിപ്പാൻ ഞാൻ നിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വരും; ഞാൻ നിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വന്നു നീ ചെയ്യേണ്ടതെന്തെന്നു പറഞ്ഞുതരുവോളം ഏഴു ദിവസം അവിടെ കാത്തിരിക്കേണം.
And thou shalt go down before me to Gilgal; and, behold, I will come down unto thee, to offer burnt offerings, and to sacrifice sacrifices of peace offerings: seven days shalt thou tarry, till I come to thee, and shew thee what thou shalt do.

10 : 9
ഇങ്ങനെ അവൻ ശമൂവേലിനെ വിട്ടുപിരിഞ്ഞപ്പോൾ ദൈവം അവന്നു വേറൊരു ഹൃദയംകൊടുത്തു; ആ അടയാളങ്ങളെല്ലാം അന്നു തന്നേ സംഭവിച്ചു.
And it was so, that when he had turned his back to go from Samuel, God gave him another heart: and all those signs came to pass that day.

10 : 10
അവർ അവിടെ ഗിരിയിങ്കൽ എത്തിയപ്പോൾ ഒരു പ്രവാചകഗണം ഇതാ, അവന്നെതിരെ വരുന്നു; ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ആത്മാവു ശക്തിയോടെ അവന്റെമേൽ വന്നു; അവൻ അവരുടെ ഇടയിൽ പ്രവചിച്ചു.
And when they came thither to the hill, behold, a company of prophets met him; and the Spirit of God came upon him, and he prophesied among them.

10 : 11
അവനെ മുമ്പെ അറിഞ്ഞവർ ഒക്കെയും അവൻ പ്രവാചകന്മാരുടെ കൂട്ടത്തിൽ പ്രവചിക്കുന്നതു കണ്ടപ്പോൾ: കീശിന്റെ മകന്നു എന്തു സംഭവിച്ചു? ശൌലും പ്രവാചകന്മാരുടെ കൂട്ടത്തിൽ ആയോ എന്നു ജനം തമ്മിൽ തമ്മിൽ പറഞ്ഞു.
And it came to pass, when all that knew him beforetime saw that, behold, he prophesied among the prophets, then the people said one to another, What is this that is come unto the son of Kish? Is Saul also among the prophets?

10 : 12
അതിന്നു അവിടത്തുകാരിൽ ഒരുത്തൻ: ആരാകുന്നു അവരുടെ ഗുരുനാഥൻ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. ആകയാൽ ശൌലും ഉണ്ടോ പ്രവാചകഗണത്തിൽ എന്നുള്ളതു പഴഞ്ചൊല്ലായി തീർന്നു.
And one of the same place answered and said, But who is their father? Therefore it became a proverb, Is Saul also among the prophets?

10 : 13
അവൻ പ്രവചിച്ചു കഴിഞ്ഞശേഷം ഗിബെയയിൽ എത്തി.
And when he had made an end of prophesying, he came to the high place.

10 : 14
ശൌലിന്റെ ഇളയപ്പൻ അവനോടും അവന്റെ ഭൃത്യനോടും: നിങ്ങൾ എവിടെ പോയിരുന്നു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു. കഴുതകളെ തിരയുവാൻ പോയിരുന്നു; അവയെ കാണായ്കയാൽ ഞങ്ങൾ ശമൂവേലിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ പോയി എന്നു അവൻ പറഞ്ഞു.
And Saul's uncle said unto him and to his servant, Whither went ye? And he said, To seek the asses: and when we saw that they were no where, we came to Samuel.

10 : 15
ശമൂവേൽ നിങ്ങളോടു പറഞ്ഞതു എന്നെ അറിയിക്കേണം എന്നു ശൌലിന്റെ ഇളയപ്പൻ പറഞ്ഞു.
And Saul's uncle said, Tell me, I pray thee, what Samuel said unto you.

10 : 16
ശൌൽ തന്റെ ഇളയപ്പനോടു: കഴുതകളെ കണ്ടുകിട്ടിയിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു അവൻ ഞങ്ങളോടു തിട്ടമായി അറിയിച്ചു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു; എങ്കിലും ശമൂവേൽ രാജത്വം സംബന്ധിച്ചു പറഞ്ഞതു അവൻ അവനോടു അറിയിച്ചില്ല.
And Saul said unto his uncle, He told us plainly that the asses were found. But of the matter of the kingdom, whereof Samuel spake, he told him not.

10 : 17
അനന്തരം ശമൂവേൽ ജനത്തെ മിസ്പയിൽ യഹോവയുടെ സന്നിധിയിൽ വിളിച്ചുകൂട്ടി,
And Samuel called the people together unto the LORD to Mizpeh;

10 : 18
യിസ്രായേൽമക്കളോടു പറഞ്ഞതെന്തെന്നാൽ: യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: ഞാൻ യിസ്രായേലിനെ മിസ്രയീമിൽനിന്നു കൊണ്ടുവന്നു മിസ്രയീമ്യരുടെ കയ്യിൽനിന്നും നിങ്ങളെ ഉപദ്രവിച്ച സകലരാജ്യക്കാരുടെയും കയ്യിൽനിന്നും നിങ്ങളെ വിടുവിച്ചു.
And said unto the children of Israel, Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, I brought up Israel out of Egypt, and delivered you out of the hand of the Egyptians, and out of the hand of all kingdoms, and of them that oppressed you:

10 : 19
നിങ്ങളോ സകല അനർത്ഥങ്ങളിൽനിന്നും കഷ്ടങ്ങളിൽനിന്നും നിങ്ങളെ രക്ഷിച്ച നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവത്തെ ഇന്നു ത്യജിച്ചു: ഞങ്ങൾക്കു ഒരു രാജാവിനെ നിയമിച്ചുതരേണമെന്നു അവനോടു പറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു. ആകയാൽ നിങ്ങൾ ഇപ്പോൾ ഗോത്രംഗോത്രമായും സഹസ്രംസഹസ്രമായും യഹോവയുടെ സന്നിധിയിൽ നില്പിൻ.
And ye have this day rejected your God, who himself saved you out of all your adversities and your tribulations; and ye have said unto him, Nay, but set a king over us. Now therefore present yourselves before the LORD by your tribes, and by your thousands.

10 : 20
അങ്ങനെ ശമൂവേൽ യിസ്രായേൽഗോത്രങ്ങളെയെല്ലാം അടുത്തു വരുമാറാക്കി; ബെന്യാമീൻ ഗോത്രത്തിന്നു ചീട്ടു വീണു.
And when Samuel had caused all the tribes of Israel to come near, the tribe of Benjamin was taken.

10 : 21
അവൻ ബെന്യാമീൻ ഗോത്രത്തെ കുടുംബംകുടുംബമായി അടുത്തുവരുമാറാക്കി; മത്രികുടുംബത്തിന്നു ചീട്ടു വീണു; പിന്നെ കീശിന്റെ മകനായ ശൌലിന്നു ചീട്ടുവീണു; അവർ അവനെ അന്വേഷിച്ചപ്പോൾ കണ്ടില്ല.
When he had caused the tribe of Benjamin to come near by their families, the family of Matri was taken, and Saul the son of Kish was taken: and when they sought him, he could not be found.

10 : 22
അവർ പിന്നെയും യഹോവയോടു: ആയാൾ ഇവിടെ വന്നിട്ടുണ്ടോ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു. അതിന്നു യഹോവ: അവൻ സാമാനങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയിൽ ഒളിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു.
Therefore they enquired of the LORD further, if the man should yet come thither. And the LORD answered, Behold he hath hid himself among the stuff.

10 : 23
അവർ ഓടിച്ചെന്നു അവിടെനിന്നു അവനെ കൊണ്ടുവന്നു. ജനമദ്ധ്യേ നിന്നപ്പോൾ അവൻ ജനത്തിൽ എല്ലാവരെക്കാളും തോൾമുതൽ പൊക്കമേറിയവനായിരുന്നു.
And they ran and fetched him thence: and when he stood among the people, he was higher than any of the people from his shoulders and upward.

10 : 24
അപ്പോൾ ശമൂവേൽ സർവ്വജനത്തോടും: യഹോവ തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്തവനെ നിങ്ങൾ കാണുന്നുവോ? സർവ്വജനത്തിലും അവനെപ്പോലെ ഒരുത്തനും ഇല്ലല്ലോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. ജനമെല്ലാം: രാജാവേ, ജയ ജയ എന്നു ആർത്തു.
And Samuel said to all the people, See ye him whom the LORD hath chosen, that there is none like him among all the people? And all the people shouted, and said, God save the king.

10 : 25
അതിന്റെ ശേഷം ശമൂവേൽ രാജധർമ്മം ജനത്തെ പറഞ്ഞുകേൾപ്പിച്ചു; അതു ഒരു പുസ്തകത്തിൽ എഴുതി യഹോവയുടെ സന്നിധിയിൽ വെച്ചു. പിന്നെ ശമൂവേൽ ജനത്തെയെല്ലാം വീട്ടിലേക്കു പറഞ്ഞയച്ചു.
Then Samuel told the people the manner of the kingdom, and wrote it in a book, and laid it up before the LORD. And Samuel sent all the people away, every man to his house.

10 : 26
ശൌലും ഗിബെയയിൽ തന്റെ വീട്ടിലേക്കു പോയി; ദൈവം മനസ്സിൽ തോന്നിച്ച ഒരു ആൾക്കൂട്ടവും അവനോടുകൂടെ പോയി.
And Saul also went home to Gibeah; and there went with him a band of men, whose hearts God had touched.

10 : 27
എന്നാൽ ചില നീചന്മാർ: ഇവൻ നമ്മെ എങ്ങനെ രക്ഷിക്കും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു അവനെ ധിക്കരിച്ചു, അവന്നു കാഴ്ച കൊണ്ടുവരാതിരുന്നു. അവനോ അതു ഗണ്യമാക്കിയില്ല.
But the children of Belial said, How shall this man save us? And they despised him, and brought no presents. But he held his peace.
