38 : 1
യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: ഈ നഗരത്തിൽ പാർക്കുന്നവൻ വാൾകൊണ്ടും ക്ഷാമംകൊണ്ടും മഹാമാരികൊണ്ടും മരിക്കും; കല്ദയരുടെ അടുക്കൽ ചെന്നു ചേരുന്നവനോ ജീയവനോടെയിരിക്കും; അവന്റെ ജീവൻ അവന്നു കൊള്ളകിട്ടിയതുപോലെയിരിക്കും; അവൻ ജീവനോടിരിക്കും എന്നും യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു:
Then Shephatiah the son of Mattan, and Gedaliah the son of Pashur, and Jucal the son of Shelemiah, and Pashur the son of Malchiah, heard the words that Jeremiah had spoken unto all the people, saying,

38 : 2
ഈ നഗരം നിശ്ചയമായി ബാബേൽരാജാവിന്റെ സൈന്യത്തിന്റെ കയ്യിൽ ഏല്പിക്കപ്പെടും, അവൻ അതിനെ പിടിക്കും എന്നും
Thus saith the LORD, He that remaineth in this city shall die by the sword, by the famine, and by the pestilence: but he that goeth forth to the Chaldeans shall live; for he shall have his life for a prey, and shall live.

38 : 3
യിരെമ്യാവു സകല ജനത്തോടും പ്രസ്താവിച്ച വചനങ്ങളെ മത്ഥാന്റെ മകനായ ശെഫത്യാവും പശ്ഹൂരിന്റെ മകനായ ഗെദല്യാവും ശെലെമ്യാവിന്റെ മകനായ യൂഖലും മൽക്കീയാവിന്റെ മകനായ പശ്ഹൂരും കേട്ടിട്ടു
Thus saith the LORD, This city shall surely be given into the hand of the king of Babylon's army, which shall take it.

38 : 4
പ്രഭുക്കന്മാർ രാജാവിനോടു: ഈ മനുഷ്യൻ നഗരത്തിൽ ശേഷിച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന പടയാളികൾക്കും സർവ്വജനത്തിന്നും ഇങ്ങനെയുള്ള വാക്കു പറഞ്ഞു ധൈര്യക്ഷയം വരുത്തുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു അവനെ കൊന്നുകളയേണമേ; ഈ മനുഷ്യൻ ഈ ജനത്തിന്റെ നന്മയല്ല തിന്മയത്രേ അന്വേഷിക്കുന്നതു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
Therefore the princes said unto the king, We beseech thee, let this man be put to death: for thus he weakeneth the hands of the men of war that remain in this city, and the hands of all the people, in speaking such words unto them: for this man seeketh not the welfare of this people, but the hurt.

38 : 5
സിദെക്കീയാരാജാവു: ഇതാ, അവൻ നിങ്ങളുടെ കയ്യിൽ ഇരിക്കുന്നു; നിങ്ങൾക്കു വിരോധമായി ഒന്നും ചെയ്‍വാൻ രാജാവിന്നു കഴിവില്ലല്ലോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
Then Zedekiah the king said, Behold, he is in your hand: for the king is not he that can do any thing against you.

38 : 6
അവർ യിരെമ്യാവെ പിടിച്ചു കാവൽപുരമുറ്റത്തു രാജകുമാരനായ മൽക്കീയാവിന്നുള്ള കുഴിയിൽ ഇറക്കി; കയറുകൊണ്ടായിരുന്നു അവർ യിരെമ്യാവെ ഇറക്കിയതു; കുഴിയിൽ ചെളിയല്ലാതെ വെള്ളമില്ലായിരുന്നു; യിരെമ്യാവു ചെളിയിൽ താണു.
Then took they Jeremiah, and cast him into the dungeon of Malchiah the son of Hammelech, that was in the court of the prison: and they let down Jeremiah with cords. And in the dungeon there was no water, but mire: so Jeremiah sunk in the mire.

38 : 7
അവർ യിരെമ്യാവെ കുഴിയിൽ ഇട്ടുകളഞ്ഞു എന്നു രാജഗൃഹത്തിൽ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്ന കൂശ്യനായ ഏബെദ്--മേലെൿ എന്ന ഷണ്ഡൻ കേട്ടു; അന്നു രാജാവു ബെന്യാമീൻ വാതിൽക്കൽ ഇരിക്കയായിരുന്നു.
Now when Ebedmelech the Ethiopian, one of the eunuchs which was in the king's house, heard that they had put Jeremiah in the dungeon; the king then sitting in the gate of Benjamin;

38 : 8
ഏബെദ്-മേലെൿ രാജഗൃഹത്തിൽനിന്നു ഇറങ്ങിച്ചെന്നു രാജാവിനോടു സംസാരിച്ചു:
Ebedmelech went forth out of the king's house, and spake to the king saying,

38 : 9
യജമാനനായ രാജാവേ, ഈ മനുഷ്യൻ യിരെമ്യാപ്രവാചകനോടു ചെയ്തതൊക്കെയും അന്യായമത്രേ; അവർ അവനെ കുഴിയിൽ ഇട്ടുകളഞ്ഞു; നഗരത്തിൽ അപ്പം ഇല്ലായ്കയാൽ അവൻ അവിടെ പട്ടിണികിടന്നു ചാകേയുള്ള എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
My lord the king, these men have done evil in all that they have done to Jeremiah the prophet, whom they have cast into the dungeon; and he is like to die for hunger in the place where he is: for there is no more bread in the city.

38 : 10
രാജാവു കൂശ്യനായ ഏബെദ്--മേലെക്കിനോടു: നീ ഇവിടെനിന്നു മുപ്പതു ആളുകളെ കൂട്ടിക്കൊണ്ടുചെന്നു, യിരെമ്യാപ്രവാചകൻ മരിക്കുംമുമ്പെ അവനെ കുഴിയിൽനിന്നു കയറ്റിക്കൊൾക എന്നു കല്പിച്ചു.
Then the king commanded Ebedmelech the Ethiopian, saying, Take from hence thirty men with thee, and take up Jeremiah the prophet out of the dungeon, before he die.

38 : 11
അങ്ങനെ ഏബെദ്--മേലെൿ ആയാളുകളെ കൂട്ടിക്കൊണ്ടു രാജഗൃഹത്തിൽ ഭണ്ഡാരമുറിക്കു കീഴെ ചെന്നു അവിടെ നിന്നു പഴന്തുണിയും കീറ്റുതുണിക്കണ്ടങ്ങളും എടുത്തു കുഴിയിൽ യിരെമ്യാവിന്നു കയറുവഴി ഇറക്കിക്കൊടുത്തു.
So Ebedmelech took the men with him, and went into the house of the king under the treasury, and took thence old cast clouts and old rotten rags, and let them down by cords into the dungeon to Jeremiah.

38 : 12
കൂശ്യനായ ഏബെദ്--മേലെൿ യിരെമ്യാവോടു: ഈ പഴന്തുണിയും കീറ്റുതുണിക്കണ്ടങ്ങളും നിന്റെ കക്ഷങ്ങളിൽ വെച്ചു അതിന്നു പുറമെ കയറിട്ടുകൊൾക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു; യിരെമ്യാവു അങ്ങനെ ചെയ്തു.
And Ebedmelech the Ethiopian said unto Jeremiah, Put now these old cast clouts and rotten rags under thine armholes under the cords. And Jeremiah did so.

38 : 13
അവർ യിരെമ്യാവെ കയറുകൊണ്ടു കുഴിയിൽനിന്നു വലിച്ചുകയറ്റി; യിരെമ്യാവു കാവൽപുരമുറ്റത്തു പാർത്തു.
So they drew up Jeremiah with cords, and took him up out of the dungeon: and Jeremiah remained in the court of the prison.

38 : 14
അതിന്റെ ശേഷം സിദെക്കീയാരാജാവു ആളയച്ചു യിരെമ്യാപ്രവാചകനെ യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തിലെ മൂന്നാം പ്രവേശനത്തിങ്കൽ തന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വരുത്തി; രാജാവു യിരെമ്യാവോടു: ഞാൻ നിന്നോടു ഒരു കാര്യം ചോദിക്കുന്നു; എന്നോടു ഒന്നും മറെച്ചുവെക്കരുതു എന്നു കല്പിച്ചു.
Then Zedekiah the king sent, and took Jeremiah the prophet unto him into the third entry that is in the house of the LORD: and the king said unto Jeremiah, I will ask thee a thing; hide nothing from me.

38 : 15
അതിന്നു യിരെമ്യാവു സിദെക്കീയാവോടു: ഞാൻ അതു ബോധിപ്പിച്ചാൽ എന്നെ കൊല്ലുകയില്ലയോ? ഞാൻ ഒരു ആലോചന പറഞ്ഞു തന്നാൽ എന്റെ വാക്കു കേൾക്കയില്ലല്ലോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
Then Jeremiah said unto Zedekiah, If I declare it unto thee, wilt thou not surely put me to death? and if I give thee counsel, wilt thou not hearken unto me?

38 : 16
സിദെക്കീയാരാജാവു: ഈ പ്രാണനെ സൃഷ്ടിച്ചുതന്ന യഹോവയാണ, ഞാൻ നിന്നെ കൊല്ലുകയില്ല; നിനക്കു പ്രാണഹാനി വരുത്തുവാൻ നോക്കുന്ന ഈ മനുഷ്യരുടെ കയ്യിൽ ഞാൻ നിന്നെ ഏല്പിക്കയുമില്ല എന്നു യിരെമ്യാവോടു രഹസ്യമായി സത്യംചെയ്തു.
So Zedekiah the king sware secretly unto Jeremiah, saying, As the LORD liveth, that made us this soul, I will not put thee to death, neither will I give thee into the hand of these men that seek thy life.

38 : 17
എന്നാറെ യിരെമ്യാവു സിദെക്കീയാവോടു: യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവമായി സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: ബാബേൽ രാജാവിന്റെ പ്രഭുക്കന്മാരുടെ അടുക്കൽ പുറത്തു ചെന്നാൽ നിനക്കു പ്രാണരക്ഷയുണ്ടാകും; ഈ നഗരത്തെ തീ വെച്ചു ചുട്ടുകളകയുമില്ല; നീയും നിന്റെ ഗൃഹവും ജീവനോടെ ഇരിക്കും.
Then said Jeremiah unto Zedekiah, Thus saith the LORD, the God of hosts, the God of Israel; If thou wilt assuredly go forth unto the king of Babylon's princes, then thy soul shall live, and this city shall not be burned with fire; and thou shalt live, and thine house:

38 : 18
നീ ബാബേൽരാജാവിന്റെ പ്രഭുക്കന്മാരുടെ അടുക്കൽ പുറത്തു ചെല്ലാഞ്ഞാലോ ഈ നഗരം കല്ദയരുടെ കയ്യിൽ ഏല്പിക്കപ്പെടും; അവർ അതിനെ തീ വെച്ചു ചുട്ടുകളയും; നീ അവരുടെ കയ്യിൽനിന്നു തെറ്റിയൊഴികയുമില്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
But if thou wilt not go forth to the king of Babylon's princes, then shall this city be given into the hand of the Chaldeans, and they shall burn it with fire, and thou shalt not escape out of their hand.

38 : 19
സിദെക്കീയാരാജാവു യിരെമ്യാവോടു: കല്ദയർ എന്നെ അവരുടെ പക്ഷം ചേർന്നിരിക്കുന്ന യെഹൂദന്മാരുടെ കയ്യിൽ ഏല്പിക്കയും അവർ എന്നെ അപമാനിക്കയും ചെയ്യുമെന്നു ഞാൻ ഭയപ്പെടുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
And Zedekiah the king said unto Jeremiah, I am afraid of the Jews that are fallen to the Chaldeans, lest they deliver me into their hand, and they mock me.

38 : 20
അതിന്നു യിരെമ്യാവു പറഞ്ഞതു: അവർ നിന്നെ ഏല്പിക്കയില്ല; ഞാൻ ബോധിപ്പിക്കുന്ന യഹോയുടെ വചനം കേൾക്കേണമേ; എന്നാൽ നിനക്കു നന്നായിരിക്കും; നിനക്കു പ്രാണരക്ഷയുണ്ടാകും.
But Jeremiah said, They shall not deliver thee. Obey, I beseech thee, the voice of the LORD, which I speak unto thee: so it shall be well unto thee, and thy soul shall live.

38 : 21
പുറത്തു ചെല്ലുവാൻ നിനക്കു മനസ്സില്ലെങ്കിലോ, യഹോവ വെളിപ്പെടുത്തിത്തന്ന അരുളപ്പാടാവിതു:
But if thou refuse to go forth, this is the word that the LORD hath shewed me:

38 : 22
യെഹൂദാരാജാവിന്റെ അരമനയിൽ ശേഷിച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന സകലസ്ത്രീകളും പുറത്തു ബാബേൽരാജാവിന്റെ പ്രഭുക്കന്മാരുടെ അടുക്കൽ പോകേണ്ടിവരും; നിന്റെ ചങ്ങാതിമാർ നിന്നെ വശീകരിച്ചു തോല്പിച്ചു; നിന്റെ കാൽ ചെളിയിൽ താണപ്പോൾ പിന്മാറിക്കളഞ്ഞു എന്നു അവർ പറയും.
And, behold, all the women that are left in the king of Judah's house shall be brought forth to the king of Babylon's princes, and those women shall say, Thy friends have set thee on, and have prevailed against thee: thy feet are sunk in the mire, and they are turned away back.

38 : 23
നിന്റെ സകലഭാര്യമാരെയും മക്കളെയും പുറത്തു കല്ദയരുടെ അടുക്കൽ കൊണ്ടുപോകും; നീയും അവരുടെ കയ്യിൽനിന്നു ഒഴിഞ്ഞുപോകാതെ ബാബേൽരാജാവിന്റെ കയ്യിൽ അകപ്പെടും; ഈ നഗരത്തെ തീ വെച്ചു ചുട്ടുകളയുന്നതിന്നു നീ ഹേതുവാകും.
So they shall bring out all thy wives and thy children to the Chaldeans: and thou shalt not escape out of their hand, but shalt be taken by the hand of the king of Babylon: and thou shalt cause this city to be burned with fire.

38 : 24
സിദെക്കീയാവു യിരെമ്യാവോടു പറഞ്ഞതു: ഈ കാര്യം ആരും അറിയരുതു: എന്നാൽ നീ മരിക്കയില്ല.
Then said Zedekiah unto Jeremiah, Let no man know of these words, and thou shalt not die.

38 : 25
ഞാൻ നിന്നോടു സംസാരിച്ചപ്രകാരം പ്രഭുക്കന്മാർ കേട്ടിട്ടു നിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വന്നു: നീ രാജാവിനോടു എന്തു സംസാരിച്ചു? ഞങ്ങളോടു പറക; ഒന്നും മറെച്ചുവെക്കരുതു; ഞങ്ങൾ നിന്നെ കൊല്ലുകയില്ല; രാജാവു നിന്നോടു എന്തു സംസാരിച്ചു എന്നിങ്ങനെ ചോദിച്ചാൽ,
But if the princes hear that I have talked with thee, and they come unto thee, and say unto thee, Declare unto us now what thou hast said unto the king, hide it not from us, and we will not put thee to death; also what the king said unto thee:

38 : 26
നീ അവരോടു: യോനാഥാന്റെ വീട്ടിൽ കിടന്നു മരിക്കാതെ ഇരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു എന്നെ വീണ്ടും അവിടെ അയക്കരുതേ എന്നു ഞാൻ രാജസന്നിധിയിൽ സങ്കടം ബോധിപ്പിക്കയായിരുന്നു എന്നു പറയേണം.
Then thou shalt say unto them, I presented my supplication before the king, that he would not cause me to return to Jonathan's house, to die there.

38 : 27
സകലപ്രഭുക്കന്മാരും യിരെമ്യാവിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വന്നു അവനോടു ചോദിച്ചാറെ അവൻ, രാജാവു കല്പിച്ച ഈ വാക്കുപോലെ ഒക്കെയും അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞു; അങ്ങനെ കാര്യം വെളിവാകാഞ്ഞതുകൊണ്ടു അവർ ഒന്നും മിണ്ടാതെ അവനെ വിട്ടുപോയി.
Then came all the princes unto Jeremiah, and asked him: and he told them according to all these words that the king had commanded. So they left off speaking with him; for the matter was not perceived.

38 : 28
യെരൂശലേം പിടിച്ച നാൾവരെ യിരെമ്യാവു കാവൽപുരമുറ്റത്തു പാർത്തു; യെരൂശലേം പിടിച്ചപ്പോഴും അവൻ അവിടെത്തന്നെ ആയിരുന്നു.
So Jeremiah abode in the court of the prison until the day that Jerusalem was taken: and he was there when Jerusalem was taken.
